Most combat missions of recon flyers
Can anyone tell me which german recon Pilot/Observer flew the most combat missions (Feindflüge)? Some recon flyers like Bonath or Badorrek did 550-600 missions, any other names and mission dates? Thanks in advance!

Re: Most combat missions of recon flyers
There were different levels of Frontflugspange, so do you know which one it is in the case in question? Info from Wikipedia follows -
Criteria for qualification[edit] Bronze - 20 flown missions Silver - 60 flown missions Gold - 110 flown missions Pennant to the Gold Front Flying Clasp Day Fighters and Transport Units: 500 missions Air to Ground Support Fighters: 400 missions Bombers, Air Sea Rescue and Weather Reconnaissance: 300 missions Reconnaissance and Night Fighters: 250 missions Info on recon pilots/crew is particularly sparse. The only one I know of who may have flown a large number of missions apart from Badorrek is Erwin Fischer, DKG, RK, EL, but there is very little info available on him. He flew in recon units for the whole war. Braunegg and Jochems flew about 350. I don't have much info on Bonath - is that Dr Hans? Can you please share what you have with me? Peter |
