Re: Mediterranean Air War by Chris Shores

Regarding the reprint of Malta: The Spitfire Year. Thank you very much, I look forward to this as well. Any ETA, and will Malta: Hurricane Years also be reprinted?

In general I am not the OCD type...but it would be nice to see these reprints in a matching trade dress to 'Mediteranean Air War'.

Cheers

Re: Mediterranean Air War by Chris Shores

I have been informed by John Davies, the publisher at Grub Street who is overseeing the MAW series, that the book has now gone to the printer. It should be in Grub Street's hands by May 23/26, and with Amazon.co.uk by May 30. My experience is that it takes about a month for a book to be available at Amazon.com once it is published in England. Amazon.com currently lists the book as being available on June 19.

Malta: The Spitfire Year will be available on May 26. It is slightly smaller than the MAW volumes (9.5 inches rather than 9.75 inches tall). I would not expect Grub Street to use a larger paper size, since I would not expect the book to be re-typeset. And using a larger paper size, without reflowing the text is just a waste of money.

With apologies, Malta: The Hurricane Years is out of print, and Grub Street does not expect to reprint it. A number of copies are listed at used.addall.com, some reasonably priced, and others unreasonably priced (IMHO).

Enjoy!

Frank.

Frank
It's great news about the MAW. Can't wait my copy.
As for both Malta books it's a pity they don't plan to re-print both of them.

Found this message from Grub Street on Twitter yesterday.
But look what has FINALLY arrived, and it's a tome. A History of the Mediterranean Air War Vol 2 - all 700+ pages

Peter

Re: Mediterranean Air War by Chris Shores

My author's copy of the book arrived yesterday. 736 pages, 695 pages of text. My bathroom scale says it weighs 4 pounds!

Amazon.co.uk should start shipping soon; their website says June 9. And Amazon.com's website says June 19.

Work on MAW3 has started, as the various authors recover. No deadline. No delivery date. When it is ready, it will be announced. No sooner. And the publisher would like to recover too; and not just his health.

Enjoy!

Frank.

Re: Mediterranean Air War by Chris Shores

I received an e-mail from Amazon UK advising me to expect the book between 17th and 19th June.

Re: Mediterranean Air War by Chris Shores

I received a notice from Amazon.com that they are having a delay in delivering the second volume but will notify me when it comes available. So maybe July.
