Hi Peter. I think you are right!
TIRPITZ had rails for the aircraft cradle from the main hangar to the catapult--as in the photo; BISMARCK did not and the plane movement was more difficult. Thanks Nick |

Nick, that settles it.
Further to Arados on Kriegsmarine warships, does anyone know this picture? I think Scharnhorst (and Gneisenau?) had this type of crane. I'm weary of the second aircraft, it is certainly a propaganda photograph. But I can't tell if it's a composite. Peter |
