January 5th 1945 RAF Mustang Escort
Hi,
Looking to establish what RAF Mustang squadrons were engaged with Bf109 on this date while escorting 160 Lancaster's to Ludwigshafen. 3 Group reports two Bf109 were shot down by RAF Mustangs. Would like to confirm and identify any claims by the escort on this date. TIA Steve

129 Squadron, at 1515, Ludwigshafen. F/Lt Dennis Coates Parker, in Mustang III FX983 DV-R, ref: FC3; CR: Air 50/51-50. And P/O T Hetherington, in Mustang III SR436 DV-T, ref: FC3; CR: Air 50/51-39. Plus the 129 Sqn ORB.
