92 squadron RAF - July/August 1944

Hello,

I'm writing an article about two Polish pilots who were posted to no. 92 squadron RAF, in July 1944 - F/Lt Jan Preihs and F/Lt Oswald Sep-Szarzynski, who were detached from no. 92 squadron RAF.

1. I'm looking for the names of the following personnel who took part in combat sorties in first two weeks of July 1944 (the list might not be complete, based on no. 92 squadron ORB):
Lt V. Boy (SAAF)
F/Sgt E. V. Bugden
W/O A. Condon (RNZAF)
F/Sgt G. Cunningham
W/O M. Deran (RCAF)
F/O W. Fair (RCAF)
F/Lt B. Garner
F/Sgt F. Hanson
F/Lt F. Hannah
F/O F. Hutchinson (RCAF)
2nd/Lt James (SAAF?)
F/Lt O. Jones
W/O J. Lane
Lt M. Lawton (SAAF)
S/Lt Lloyd (SAAF?)
Lt E. Manne (SAAF)
F/Lt L. Montgomerie
S/Lt J. Morris
W/O F. Newman
S/Ldr D. S. Robinson
Sgt C. Smith
F/Lt L. Smith
S/Lt Stephens (SAAF?)
P/O D. Stevenson
F/O A. Taylor (RCAF)
F/Lt D. Wright
P/O C. Young (RNZAF)

The only name which is clear is the C.O S/Ldr Graham J. Cox
Where there any other pilots which are not listed above?

2. On 21st July 1944 S/Ldr Cox shot down a Ju 188. In ORB it is mentioned that the crash site of this aircraft was close to the no. 92 squadron's detachment airfield and the squadron members went there to see the wreckage of the German plane. In ORB it was mentioned: This evening we went over (...) to inspect what was left of the JU.188 and if possible to find a "bony finger" for SQUADRON LEADER N.F. DUKE, D.S.O., D.F.C. and Bar, of No. 145 SQUADRON!
What does "bony finger" (a kind of human trophy?) in this context mean, and why no. 92 squadron pilots collected it for the C.O. of no. 145 squadron?

3. What where the squadron letters of the following no. 92 squadron aircraft?
JF899
JF424

4. I am looking for any photos of the following kites, which I could use in my article (published in Polish, in Poland )
QJ-B (JG317)
QJ-C (JF356)
QJ-E (JF559)
QJ-H (JF894)
QJ-J (JF339)
QJ-R (JF896)
QJ-T (JF426)
QJ-U (JF298)
QJ-V (JF662)
QJ-X (JF505)
QJ-Y (JF525)

I would really appreciate some help and advice.

Best regards
Wojtek Zmyslony

Re: 92 squadron RAF - July/August 1944

Thanks a lot for this information.
The service number of Preihs was P-0219, while Sep-Szarzynski was P-1648.

OK, so here is the edited list of 92 squadron pilots, with some new names (comparing to the list above). It seems that there were some FAA pilots (not SAAF as I had thought):
S/Ldr Graham J. Cox – Squadron C.O.
F/Lt Ben. L. Garner – Flight „A” C.O.
F/Lt Leighton J. Montgomerie (RNZAF) – Flight „B” C.O.
Lt V. V. Boy (SAAF)
F/Sgt E. V. Bugden
W/O Allan T. Condon (RNZAF)
F/Sgt G. Cunningham
W/O M. Doran (RCAF)
F/O William R. Fair (RCAF)
F/O C. F. Hackett
F/Sgt F. M. P. Hanson
F/Lt F. Hannah
F/O F. Hutchinson (RCAF)
S/Lt James (FAA)
F/Lt O. Jones
P/O D. E. King
W/O John J. Lane
Lt M. Lawton (SAAF)
S/Lt Little (FAA)
S/Lt L. G. Lloyd (FAA)
Lt E. Manne (SAAF)
S/Lt J. Morris (FAA)
W/O F. Newman
F/Sgt J. Peacock
S/Lt D. S. Robinson (FAA)
Sgt Charles P. K. Smith
F/Lt L. Smith
S/Lt Stephens (FAA)
P/O D. A. Stevenson
F/O Allan D. Taylor (RCAF)
F/Lt D. Wright
P/O Cederic D. Young (RNZAF).
