He 177 A-1 (E8+FH)

Hallo,

What was the fate of this machine?
Was it lost in action (accident due to weather)?
Is there a werknummer for that code E8+FH?
Which was the full crew? All KIA?

A.

Brian,

My gratitude indeed for the full crew member names of the E8+FH crew...I made a typo on last message.

Thanks a lot!

It certainly wasn’t NSG 9, which inherited the E8 code in November 1943! This change confused RAF Intelligence at first because they only knew of its use by FKG 50.

Re: He 177 A-1 (E8+FH)

Chris, my interest was only this first KG 50 crew loss and particularly Major Scheede's crew.

Sorry about the delay in answering you back....quite busy lately...
