German bomber units in Italy September 1943

I am researching the fightings between German paratroopers (II./FJR 6) and Italian units at Monterotondo, close to Rome, on Septemebr 9th and 10th, 1943.

Italian reports state that German bombers attacked the Italian positions in the evening of September 9th and in the night between September 9th and 10th, the italian AA Group also claims that some bombers were shot down.
I checked the lists of "Flugzeugunfälle und Verluste bei den Verbänden" for the months September, October and November 1943: I found the confirmation of one Ju.52 shot down, but no confirmation about any bomber. Fact is, that such lists are not complete, as sometimes the details of losses were noted weeks or even months later.

My questions: Which were the German bomber units in Italy ion that period? Any after actions report known, where the actions on Monterotondo were noticed?

Thanks in advance for any help!

G.

The nearest date I have for Luftflotte 2 is 20 October 1943 when the following bomber units were based in Italy:

Stab, I. and II./KG 30
Stab, I. and II./KG 54
Stab, I. and II./KG 76

Re: German bomber units in Italy September 1943

In Sep 1943 KG 54 was based at:
Stab: Foggia
I./KG 54: Ingolstadt/Manching
II./KG 54: Wien/Aspern
III./KG 54: Foggia
IV./KG 54: Parndorf

So only III./KG 54 was in Italy at the time. 5 Ju 88 attacked the Italian barracks at Barletta on the 10th or 11th of Sep 1943. I have nothing for the Rome area however.
Regards,
Rudi.

Re: German bomber units in Italy September 1943

Thanks to you both!

Rudi, do you have any info about the losses of III./KG54 in the period 8th to 12th of September? Any idea of attacks of Ju 88 of III./KG54 on the 9th of September, even not in Rome's area?

Thanks in advance

Guido
