Dutch Pilot Johan Christiaan ter Averst
Hi,
Looking for details on this pilot. I have been told he trained as a fighter pilot, but ended up on bombers with 218 Squadron. Looking to establish his movements. TIA Steve

Re: Dutch Pilot Johan Christiaan ter Averst
It appears that after having flown missions with 218 Squadron he was withdrawn from combat duties and was transferred to the KLM (Royal Dutch Airlines) somehere in 1943.
Some (Dutch) sources also mention 101 Squadron, but haven't looked this up in relevant ORBs. Regards, Leendert |

He was involved in a crash in May 1943 where he damaged a foot. This maybe the reason he was withdrawn from operations. Thank you for the reply. Steve

Re: Dutch Pilot Johan Christiaan ter Averst
The reason for his transfer to KLM was LMF.
