Josef or Johann Krause of 6./NJG 101

Dear friends,

I'm looking for information on the commander or just a rank-and-file member of the 6th Staffel Nachtjagdgeschwader 101.
Luftwaffe Officer Career Summaries by Henry L. deZeng and Douglas G. Stankey lists three night fighters named Johann (Hans) or Josef Krause, but I'm almost certain it is only two, maybe even just one person.

Can you advise me what is right and what is wrong? Thanks, Jan

Re: Josef or Johann Krause of 6./NJG 101

Hi Jan

Yes, one in the same. Hans is a short version of Johann. Twenty-six confirmed claims, three with 1./NJG 3 (6th October 1942 - 30th March 1943) and twenty-three with 6./NJG 101(1st February 1944 - 22nd November 1944, including five Russian) Also a claim by his gunner on 4th March 1945 over a British Mosquito, (but unconfirmed) with Stab.I./NJG 4. NJG 101's top scorer.

Kind Regards

Johannes
