Seat Harness

Anyone know of the name or model number of the US fighter aircraft shoulder harness? The RAF for example used the Sutton harness.

And did the USN use the same harness as the USAAF, or a different model?

Re: Seat Harness

Jim,

I understand that it may change from each model of parachute...

You have a good site here: https://www.theriggerdepot.com/navy-seat-harness.html

My guess is that "yours" (what you are looking for) could be the AN-6510 Harness

Re: Seat Harness

Thanks for the comments Adriano, but it's not the seat parachute info that I'm after.

I'm interested in what seat belt harness the US used in WWII, ie what the pilot strapped over his waist and shoulders. It's separate from the parachute harness.

Re: Seat Harness

JIM,

Sorry for messing up what you were looking for...now I understood it plainly.

But guess you will have to inform us the model of airplane you are looking for (e.g. Boeing PT-17, A-20 Boston, etc.). I may be wrong, but they changed according to the manufacturer of the airplane and are generally listed on the Airplane Parts Catalog Manual. You do have the A-20G here, for example:
https://www.aircraft-reports.com/dou...1-40al-4-1944/

Re: Seat Harness

From AN-01-65BC-4 (RB-47C Parts Manual) I can quote, that the type of seat belt was:

Safety Belt Type B-11-G.F.E.

Re: Seat Harness

I do have the A-20 Parts Catalogue somewhere....to cross check the information. Give me some time to find it.
