Sqn Ldr Paul Garrard DFC 59 Sqn 1942

Hi guys

Sqn Ldr Paul Garrard DFC led a detachment of Hudsons during the Sumatran/Java campaign 1942.

He was reported dead on 25 March 1942, almost three weeks after the surrender of Java.

Was he killed whilst a prisoner of war? Any help appreciated.

Cheers
Brian

This thread and the one below illustrate the conundrum we Moderators face. These were posted in a forum that was primarily intended for Europe /NA operations. While it is for RAF personnel it is operations in the Pacific where we have a separated dedicated forum. Should these 2 threads not be there?

So where does it go? I have been chastised for moving one thread that I thought was in the wrong forum.

We are not going to double post threads.

Brian,

Depending on how keen/affluent (AUD$69.00) you are, there is the following file at the NAA:

Some local bod (OZ), might be able to take a look for you.

Col.
