Jerry Ravenscroft, 51st FG, 14th AF, P-51 pilot

Remember and Honor 31m · We lost another of the Greatest Generation with the passing of Jerry Ravenscroft. Jerry was a P-51 pilot with the 26th Fighter Squadron, 51st Fighter Group of the14th Air Force in China. He would be shot down over Japanese-held territory and for the next 30 days he walked barefoot, in the middle of winter, back to American lines. He lost all his toenails doing so.
