46 Squadron Hurricanes - 1940

Can anyone point me in the right direction for a source of photographs depicting 46 Squadron during 1940? Any will do!

They certainly are rare!

Presumably you want any Hurricanes marked with PO unit codes as in
PO-B V7360?

Hopefully that should help members search their files.

Hi Andy

I'm pretty sure Andy Thomas has at least one, PO-G.

Why the silence?

Cheers

Here are three pictures. One showing PO-M in a shelter at Bardufoss while the two pictures of PO-C are from the loading of the Glorious in Scotland before setting off for Norway.
Both metal- and ragwing Hurricanes were in use, but all had the DeHavilland propeller and spinner. Unfortunately a Serial/Code correlation has proved very difficult and only a few are known. We do have all the serials though.

I know this is a very old post, but is it possible that Serial no. on PO-C and PO-T has surfaced ??

cheers
Jes

Re: 46 Squadron Hurricanes - 1940

From photos and the ORB I belive that PO-C was L1814. This Hurricane had fabric covered wings and the early wind shield and radio mast. PO-T, which was left behind at Bardusfoss when the brits retreated, I belive was P2652. Metall wings with the late type windshield and early type radiomast. Both had the de Havilland spinner/propeller.
