I am still going on this one and am starting to think that he was credited to the wrong 249 Squadron pilot. Officially credited to Flt Lt Barton but the action as described by eye witnesses also fits better with the combat report of Sgt M M Maciejowski of the same squadron. Sgt M M Maciejowski was credited with the next LG2 109 downed at Langenhoe which force landed intact. He describes his victim as catching fire and crashing in flames. Any comments appreciated.
