Germans POWs and Red Cross
Hello,
I'm researching about a Luftwaffe aviator, captured by the Americans late in 1944 or in 1945. This aviator was, later, liberated and could return home. It's very difficult to find information about him, in spite of all my approaches... So, the Red Cross could be a track... My question is : Were German soldiers captured by the Allies registered by the Red Cross? if so, is access to their "Red Cross" file possible to day? at the ICRC in Geneva? to the German Red Cross? to the American Red Cross? Thanks in advance for any response Pierre Babin |
