Captain Puschkow of Russian 324 squadron

Captain Puschkow was squadron Leader of the Russian 324th group leading a schwarm of Il-2's when he was shot down and captured probably in March 1945.
Does anybody have more details please.

He came down South-East of Preuss-Stargard.

Grateful in advance for any help.

Kind Regards

Johannes

Re: Captain Puschkow of Russian 324 squadron

Hello Johannes,

if it was in March 1945 near Preuss-Stargard, it was 4.Air Army. Can't find somebody like Captain Puschkow. Also, it isn't clear what is it "324th group". Il-2s were in regiments - divisions - corps.

Best regards,
Andrey

There was an IL-2 pilot, Ml.Lt. Mihail Alekseevich Puchkov in 4 VA, 233 ShAD, 198 ShAP in March, 1945, but he was not a Captain and I am not aware of his loss. Perhaps he?

Hello Habor,

in the end of March Puchkov was safe and sound.

Best regards,

Hi Gabor/Andrey

Thanks for your input.

March 1945 comes from a "tagbuch" written post war probably, but I have the feeling the dates are incorrect mostly throughout. If I am correct them the March 1945 quote was in fact April 1945. Puschkow was allegedly questioned after capture, and his victor was present(guess this is where he got the name). I have the victors abschüßlist, but it's not based on flugbücher, or a Leistunsbuch, and many of the claims are listed by month only, and also type. Those the appear on the mikrofilms are usually a month later than he claims !

Kind Regards

Johannes

Re: Captain Puschkow of Russian 324 squadron

Hi Johannes,

In April, nothing happened in the Preuss-Stargard area anymore.
Therefore, or event occurred in March (but apparently the pilot was with a different surname), or it was in another area.

Kind regards,
Andrey

Hi Andrey

That's the area quoted, but this pilots recollections are not too accurate, especially regarding dates.

You are implying there was such a person.

Question is when was Puchkov captured, or when did his time as leader of 324 regiment end?

Kind Regards

Johannes
