Re: Looking Commonwealth aviation personnel from Mexico

What about Eugene Valencia, VF-9? Was he of Mexican descent?

I believe Gene Valencia's father was from a long time California Hispanic family. Enjoy!

Frank.

Re: Looking Commonwealth aviation personnel from Mexico

Good evening Leendert and Frank
Valencia is going to be interesting but in other cases some dont have any hispanic souding names like per example USN Hellcat pilot Arthur Van Haren from Arizona served in VF-2 he is from a Mexican/Dutch ancestry. Surprised !!. So anything is possible.

Cheers
Santiago

Re: Looking Commonwealth aviation personnel from Mexico

Not Commonwealth anymore.
When only using Code 20 (Air Corps) and Nativity !1 (Mexico) on the NARA Enlistment Records website, then this resulted in 410 names/41 pages of men born in Mexico and having enlisted in the USAAF.
You may try it with Nativity Code X1 as well.

See https://aad.archives.gov/aad/series-...&cat=all&bc=sl
and go to Advanced Search/Show more fields.

Not all of them pilots, of course....

Regards,
Leendert
