Behelfskampfstaffel 8 at Stalingrad
I'm wondering if anyone is researching the Behelfkampstaffeln that were the predecessors to the night intruder (Storkampf) units organized in November 1942. I've got a bit of information on one of the pilots who helped organize Behelfskampstaffel 8 at Karpowka and who was killed there in a flight accident on 17 Oct. 1942. I have the letter of condolence that Lt. Alfons Haury wrote to the widow describing the circumstances of her husband's death.
The unit and Haury are noted on p. 344 of Vol. 2 of de Zeng and Stankey, "Dive Bomber and Ground Attack Units of the Luftwaffe." Thanks. Best wishes, John Lundstrom |
