Help needed with russian WW1 baloon incident

Hello,

Recently one of my friends has asked me to help him with some research. He has found a Russian military forage cap badge for balloon troops ( aerostat ) in an area of a WW 1 battle. While doing some more research we have found out that there was a Russian balloon destroyed in the area in 1/14 July 1917.

We would like to know, if possible, what unit did this balloon belong to, who was the observer and if he got killed or not during the event.

During research we found out that in the area there were active units of 9 IAO and air detachments no. 4,10,20,26,27 although this might not be useful since balloon units could be dispatched to infantry units as well.

Anyway, any input on this subject is welcome.
Thank you.

The image you have posted (a winged anchor) seems to be "almost" identical to the badge on this hat, which is claimed to be a WWI Russian Naval Air Force hat.

(You can first select the image of the badge itself, and then click the resulting image to enlarge it and get a better view.)
