Glider/Sailplane and DFS pictures

Dear all involved with gliders or DFS aircraft, I am searching for pictures of gliders designed by Hans Jacobs, like Rhönsperber, Sperber Senior (was at Elmira and NY in 1937, there must be some nice pictures by Hans Groenhoff, but I can't open any NASM website), Seeadler, Kranich, Weihe, Meise, Rhönadler, DFS 230, Habicht..
I have an airworthy Weihe glider, D-0700, and work on a book on the life and the designs of Hans Jacobs.

Especially in the US, there should be some pictures around of Sperber Senior and Habicht, as both gliders where there in the late 1930ies.
Also, recently on ebay there were nice DFS pictures for sale, but as a German one is excluded from some auctions there (due to any political restrictions I don't really understand).

Please help, all the best from Germany (Munich area), Peter

Re: Glider/Sailplane and DFS pictures

Peter,

I have only a small amount of Luftwaffe DFS230 pictures, and some military Gotha 242s... any use to you...? Don't have any pre-war gliders though... sorry. If you would like to see them, please provide e-mail address.

Regards

Peter, you mean any particular photos or post-war photos or survivors?

Hello,

Is your work at this book still under way?

The US owned Kranich was stored by the USAAF during WWII at Clinton County Army Air Field aka well-known CCAAF, Wilmington, Ohio. The CCAAF had its own photo archive in the USAAC/USAAF structure. In the period you are interested in that US Army glider base marked its photographs by signatures from 77475 up to 198386. That's a place for you to research.

There's some great stuff on this site: http://www.danielsww2.com/page23.html

For some reason the subordinate pages aren't loading up today but it's worth bookmarking.

That's right. This link will be useful http://www.danielsww2.com/page14.html

There was also 1940s era LIFE magazine with the article on Riedel and his Kranich in the USA.

Re: Glider/Sailplane and DFS pictures

Dear all, sorry for the late reply. Thank you for all answers.
The site of Clint Daniel www.danielsww2.com is fantastic, I know him for some time and helped him to do some things correct (although his research was/is really fantastic).
I am looking for pictures taken until 1950. So, if anybody could help, that would be great.
Best regards, Peter
