Losses NJG 200
Does anybody have a list of the losses of NJG 200?
I'm also interested in the history of NJG 200. Thanks in advance Rolf |

Re: Losses NJG 200
Evening Rolf,
The two books written by Michael Balss will be then of great intrest: Deutsche Nachtjagd - Materialverluste in Ausbildung und Einsatz (ISBN: 3-925480-3-6 & Deutsche Nachtjagd - Personalverluste in Ausbildung und Einsatz (ISBN: unknown). Kind regards, Dirk |

If you believe that Balss's data are incomplete, does this mean that you know of a better source for these two units?

Re: Losses NJG 200
Hi.
I have all the incidents (or at least the ones reported) for NJG 200. They sustained 18 incidents reported in 1943, the remaining 23 incidents were reported in 1944, and I do not have detailed information on these. Would be of interest to compare my records with Balss publication. Any volunteers?? Regards, Andreas B BTW! Those trying to contact me by mail during the last couple of weeks, will get back to you in a short while!

Re: Losses NJG 200
Not so much work to do, Balss work , is merely/exclusively based for 1944/45 on NVM , so need losses in personal, maybe there is none..
I just found these 2 coming from a Jägerblatt + uLTRA 17 4 44 5 NJG200 /Sewastopol/ Nacht einsatz BF110 8V+LN 100 2 ED17NAB 15 4 44 5 NJG200 Chersonnes FP Bombenw+Tiefangriff x Lindemann oblt f sta,ka, + Those for 1943 10 10 43 BM I NJG200 H Neuburg FP S JU88C-6 360209 60 1 11 43 4 5 NJG200 F Kertsch b, F J x Holzwarth friedrich 5 11 43 BM 7 NJG200 H Neuburg /donau A BF JU88C 720014 100 3 DL05NAA 10 9 43 4 4 NJG200 F X X BF110G-2 6391 DP+UM 100 1 1 DI10NAA 11 9 43 BM 4 NJG200 H Feldkirchen west, N MSTO JU88C-2 880740 85 x Hauschild hans 11 10 43 BM 4 NJG200 H krossno b, MSTO BF110F-4 3574 15 11 10 43 BM 8 NJG200 H Neuburg FP BF JU88C-6 360209 45 ER 12 9 43 BM 4 NJG200 H Feldkirchen MSTO JU88C-2 740 85 12 11 43 4 5 NJG200 F Bagerowo BA FJ BF110G-2 5225 30 13 9 43 BM 4 NJG200 H Neuburg FP A BF JU88C-6 360198 100 23 9 43 4 5 NJG200 F PQ 6663 A see LFK BF110G-2 6248 100 2 DI23NAB 23 11 43 BM 7 NJG200 H Neuburg FP RSCH JU88C-6 360415 35 ER 23 11 43 BM 7 NJG200 H Neuburg FP BF rollen JU88C-6 360450 20 24 8 43 BM 4 NJG200 H Neuburg sud, A BF JU88C-6 360164 90 2 DH24NAB 26 8 43 BM 4 NJG200 H Neuburg FP S TM JU88C-6 360209 30 27 9 43 4 5 NJG200 F PQ 66853 Kertsch b, Ger, abgesch, russ, fz BF110G-2 6392 100 x Kociok josef 29 9 43 BM 4 NJG200 H Weichering MSTO JU88A-6 360166 100 3 DI29NAA 30 10 43 4 9 NJG200 F Kertsch b, F FL BF110G-2 6384 35 x Remi |

Re: Losses NJG 200
Remi
Can you check your details for 1943 again You list WNr 360209 three times. First on 26.8.43 with 30% damage (which I can buy). Secondly on 10.10.43 with 60% damage and finally on 11.10.43 with 45% damage. The two latter one's sounds not very reasonable, one yes but not both... WNr 880740 (aka 740) twice. First on 11.9.43 with 85% damage and then on 12.9.43 also with 85% damage. Same unit and same place... Cheers Stig |

Re: Losses NJG 200
Dear Stig,
These data brut from QM returns, first you collect then you correct or complete if needed, seems I just made half of the work..., to give you an hint of how big is the work, the total losses for the Lwf 1939-1945 amount to a bit less than 140.000 pcs ... WNr 360209 three times. First on 26.8.43 with 30% damage (which I can buy). Secondly on 10.10.43 with 60% damage and finally on 11.10.43 with 45% damage. The two latter one's sounds not very reasonable, one yes but not both... 30 % is correct 60+45 % same event reported twice WNr 880740 (aka 740) twice. First on 11.9.43 with 85% damage and then on 12.9.43 also with 85% damage. Same unit and same place... Same event night of 12/13 sept. reported twice |

Re: Losses NJG 200
Night fighter units operating mainly in the East may not have suffered so many losses from enemy action. The USSR did not have a big force of Mosquitoes and Beaufighters to hunt them like the RAF did in the West. But even so you would expect regular losses to accidental causes in any flying unit.
