129 Squadron Mustan III loss - 1st October 1944

Good night to all,
I am seeking information about a 129 Squadron loss (possibly a Mustang III) on the 1st October 1944. Pilot was F/Lt Philp Norman Howard (RAFVR 126785)- killed in action.
Any information about the causes of accident, codes and serial number of the aircraft are mostly welcomed.
MANY thanks in advance.

Re: 129 Squadron Mustan III loss - 1st October 1944

Howard was shot down on 25 September 1944 during the Arnhem operations flying a Mustang III. The ORB states he was "believed to be safe" however the CWGC records that he died on 1 October 1944. 129Sqn were not involved in any operations on 1 October 1944.

Steve, UDF and Karl,
I had some problems with internet connection in the last 5 days...this is why I took a while to answer back.
Your help is more valuable. KARL, am sending you an email. I was trying to find where FB147 had crashed and you indeed found the wreck! Amazing.
Thanks a lot indeed.
