Thumbs up B-17 44-8503 emergency landing A-89 In Belgium

Hi ,

On march 19 1945 B-17 44-8503 from the 100BG/350BS made an emergencylanding at A-89 Le Culot in Belgium during a raid on Plauen.
Does somebody knows wich crew was flying this aircraft that day ?

Thanks in advance

Hello,
Perhaps there may be an answer in Richard Me Strange'2s "Cen5ury Bombers: The story of the Bloody Hundredt" ?
Could not find anything on crew in the ref books I have.

Hello Alain,
I found this on :
https://100thbg.com/index.php?option...810&Itemid=334 :
“ …We have only two records of Lt Knowles flying as 1st pilot after Dec 31, 1944, one on March 17, 1945 to Plauen flying 42-31530 “QUITTIN' TIME” and another the following day March 18, 1945 flying 44-8503 "BABY BUNTY" LN-A, an a/c from the 350th BS to Berlin. According to S/Sgt Hooper diary, 3-17-45, Plauen, Ger . Knowles was pilot, Lt Brown, a new pilot, flew as co-pilot. Lt. Linn – Bombardier – Levine was waist gunner, Hooper as TG.”

I did not find any trace of an emergency landing of B-17 serial 44-8503 on Le Culot (cfr BEAUVECHAIN Le Culot 1935- 1945 - Robert PIED)

Re: B-17 44-8503 emergency landing A-89 In Belgium

Info of 44-8503 at Le Culot on 19 Mar 45 on 100th BG website: https://100thbg.com/index.php?option...100&Itemid=326

44-8503 was ship of Lt Tom Fellows, but not sure if he flew the plane that day.
Mission that day was to Jena.

Regards,

Leendert
