Onboard aircraft — Soviet Black Sea Fleet — June 1941
Greetings!
I am looking for the type and number of aircraft assigned to the capital ships of the Black Sea Fleet. Aircraft in the Shipboard Detachment on 22 June 41: 7×MBR-2, 5×KOR-1, 2×KR-1. The KR-1 were obsolete, and apparently no longer in use. Possibly training aircraft? At first, I though the light cruisers could be planeless, but the few photographs I have seen shows a catapult and a large crane. It's likely the aircraft were ashore My guess: CA Krasny Kavkaz (1×KOR-1) CA Voroshilov (1×KOR-1) CA Molotov (1×KOR-1) CL Krasny Krym (1×KOR-1 ?) — [ship under repair] CL Chervona Ukraina (1×KOR-1) But, which are the ones stationed on the BB Parizhskaya Kommuna (1 or 2×?) ? Any assistance would be appreciated. Cheers -- Leo |
