The 151 Squadron Hurricane on 14 February 1940 was L1798, subsequently repaired. The pilot was 565476 Sgt. George Atkinson who was unhurt. For the two Hurricanes on the list preceding the above I can find nothing in the respective ORBs. Nor are there F.1180s for either. While damage may have occurred in one or both cases, it is also possible one or both were able to be landed safely wheels down at an airfield or open space. These two will be very difficult to find further details on without a specific logbook entry methinks. Regards, Martin. |

Thought there might be a few in those TNA, Kew, files, where no accident card or other record exists. I expect some may also contain a little more info, than those recorded in the ORB. Mark |
