Bleriot XI

Hi guys

Can anyone confirm that the original Bleriot XI, the one to cross the Channel, was stored at Buc and was destroyed on 19 July 1940? If not, what was its fate? And therefore which model was stored at Buc?

(excuse Bleriot IX heading!)

Cheers
Brian

Re: Bleriot IX

My understanding is that the Channel Bleriot is in the Musée des Arts et Métiers in Paris.. That does not mean that a Bleriot was not stored at Buc nor destroyed on 19 July 1940

Of course I do not know the history of where the Channel Bleriot was in the 1940's thought it was in the UK in the late 1930s'
