Bell P-39F-1-BE, 41-7215 (msn 15-554) ?
Good afternoon,
this plane was found, restored, and is now in a museum. The photos show the identification plate, where the number of the aircraft and the engine was placed. It is indicated that this is a Bell P-39F-1-BE machine, 41-7215 (MSN 15-554). https://pacificwrecks.com/aircraft/p...5/cockpit.html https://militaryaviationmuseum.org/w...-2019-19.3.pdf The question is the following - all 229 aircraft of this modification belonged to the "Model 15B" and the MSN of these aircraft in the range from "15B-1" to "15B-229", but is the MSN really "15-554" for this aircraft (as if the numbering of "Model 15" - Bell P-39D-BE continued), and not as theoretically it should be "15B-100"? Is there a photo of the nameplate of this aircraft nearby? Best regards, Kirill |
