Re: Hauptmann von Muehlheim 3./ZG1

Hello Many.

I could not give u an answer to your first question. I'm still looking for this code, too. One note. His name was "von Müllenheim-Rechberg" not Muehlheim. ;-)

For your second question I've got the following for Bf 110:

1./ZG 76, FF Oberleutnant Christoph Nagel (WIA, POW) and BF Unteroffizier Ernst Lochbaum (KIA), a/c Bf 110C-1 M8+AH, Werknummer 948, 100% loss

2./ZG 76, FF Unteroffizier Helmut Mütschele (escaped unhurt) and BF Gefreiter Kurt Bluhm (KIA), a/c Bf 110C-1 M8+?K, no Werknummer, 95% loss

and for Do 17:

2.(F)/11, FF Oberfeldwebel Ernst Eder (WIA), BO Oberfeldwebel Helmut Dehner (WIA) and BF Oberfeldwebel Helmut Kuhfeld, a/c Do 17P 6M+DK, no Werknummer, 60% loss

4.(F)/11, FF ? (POW), BO Oberleutnant Müller (?), BF ?, a/c Do 17P 6M+?M, no Werknummer, 100% loss

2.(F)/121, FF Unteroffizier Emil Armbrost (POW), BO Unteroffizier Wilhelm Henningsen (POW) and BF Gefreiter Werner Gerndt (KIA), a/c Do 17F 7A+GK, no Werknummer, 100% loss

Additions and corrections are very welcome.

Best regards
Gunnar - Bf 110 -

Re: Hauptmann von Muehlheim 3./ZG1

Gunnar,

Like you, I have no precise information on the codes carried by the Bf110C of Hptm Wendelin Fr von Müllenheim-Rechberg (Staffelkapitän) of 3./ZG1 on 2 September 1939. However, I was interested to note that you provided the codes of Oberfw Ernst Eder's Do17P of 2.(F)/11 lost on that day and would be most grateful to learn the source of this (to me) previously unrecorded information.

Many thanks.

Peter,

this information came from an ebay auction in 2014, where three photographs of that force landed a/c were sold, giving the name of Ofw. Dehner in discription. Unfortunately I got only copies of the photos, so I cant say, if there's a caption on the backside of them. So it's more an assumption than an evidence. I'm sorry.

Thank you Gunnar. I will see if I can track down scans of the photos you mention.
