Horst ??? the 361st FG converted to Mustangs in May, 1944. The only 8th AF FG w/47s were 56, 78, 353 and 356 FG after May 1944

MACR 3630 should be late March, early 1944 and those dates could belong to the 361st.. so, looking, looking

Re: date of some US losses

P-40's were part of 17th Pursuit Squadron (Provisional), shipped to Philippines, but convoy diverted to Australia.
Some 18 P-40's formed part of the PS. Stories here http://forum.armyairforces.com/m/tm.aspx?m=56355 and here http://www.adf-serials.com.au/research/Part3-P40.pdf

Armyairforces speaks of some losses over Java, so 40-674 and 40-675 may be among them. 40-667 apparently written off after ground incident?

Regards,

Leendert
