These are extracts from CX/MSS/2882, 12 July 1943, which has several gaps (usually described as ‘smudges’). The extracted information is exactly as it appears in the report.

Lossws: 1 Bf 109 Uffz. (smudge) II/77.

Addendum to battle report of 9/7:
Uffz. PHILIPP 3rd victory 0540 hrs. 15 km. N.N.E. of SCIACCA from 500 metres 1 KITTYHAWK without witnesses crashed on the ground.
Uffz. WEBERING 1st victory, 0535 hrs. [square] 28251 from 4000 metres without witnesses. Dived down in flames, not observed. Pilot baled out. Parachute did not open (smudge).

*The Allied Intelligence Officer who wrote this report added a note confirming that Obltn. ROEHRIG is credited with 72 victories twice.

12 July 1943
CX/MSS/2883/T6

In this report it is stated in a note that references in LW messages to ‘FIGHTER AIRFIELD C’ refer to ‘CHINISIA C’. Chinisia is about 15 km S.E. of TRAPANI.

From Obltn. MOSER 19/4/43:

Major SCHEINPFLUG, Fw. POSS, Uffz. ZILS and Uffz. OSA report that their task has been completed. They will go on leave from to-day until 12/5’

NOTE: Major SCHEINPFLUG was associated with Stuka 77, and the above message was believed to refer to orders already read concerning ferrying of aircraft.
