Looking for Staffelfuhrer 9./JG 2 in late 1944/45

Hello guys,

I'm looking for Staffelfuhrer of 9./JG 2 in late 1944 and 1945 until end of war. Maybe some of you know them and can tell the names of them?
It's possible that Staffelfuhrer / squadron leader (?) was not necessarily a pilot.

Many thanks and greets to all,
Sven

SVEN, do you have a photo of this airman showing his badges or face?
There are some experts here on JG 2 (Monbeek for instance and Chris Goss as well) so they may be able to identify your man.
Another possibility is to check EACH of the huge and helpful list on DE ZENG Files and see who was at 9./JG 2 (I mean those who were Officers) at that period of time (end 44 - early 45).
Maybe you do have a clue to his Name? Or something written behind a photo?

Hope this can be of assistance....

A.

Hello! I am not sure, but I think, that Oblt. Werner Roßbach and after his missing on Febr. 25th, 1945, Oblt. Rolf Schwingel (KIA March 17th, 1945 were the Staffelführer (evtl. Stappelkapitän) of 9./JG 2.

It was Bellstedt not Hellstedt formerly V./KG 40. Hansen was I believe nexct but killed 18 or 19 Nov 44. After that I have a series of names without much providence but looking at ranks would think they were St Fhr-Lt Grossfuss, Lt Giegelberger, Lt Schäfer

Re: Looking for Staffelfuhrer 9./JG 2 in late 1944/45

as addition to Leo

to 21.11.44 Oblt. Dieter Meister
to 25.2.45 Oblt. Werner Rossbach
after Oblt. Detlef Großfuß

I think there also were not flying St.kpt./St.fhr. Of course temporarily. Only until the appointment of a new St.kpt/St.fhr. To the end of the war it was a problem to find suitable officers.

Oblt. Meister were killed as a member of 9./J.G. 2. I have no proof for him as St.kpt. Its only a assumption. Former St.kpt. 3./Z.G. 1.

I have for 10./J.G. 2

to 20.10.44 Oblt. Wilhelm Phillips, St.fhr.
to 23.2.45 Lt. Rolf Bischoff, St.fhr., St.kpt.
to 8.5.45 Lt. Lothar Kabbe, St.fhr.
