I./ZG 26, 1944 question.

Hi all!

Some questions appeared after reading book:

"Messerschmitt Me210/Me410" Squadron/Signal Publications, say that Oblt. Peter Jenne was Gr.Kdr. of I./ZG 26 at time of this unit was equipped with Me410's. Is it true, Oblt. (not Hptm. or Mjr.) as Gr.Kdr.? May be he was "acting Gr.Kdr."? Only I know that Jenne flew with "original Wespen Gruppe I./ZG 1" (and I found some confirms of his Ostfront victories with 1./ZG 1, for example I-153 over Stalingrad on Sept. 42), and was posted to StaKa 1./ZG 1 after Oblt. Rudiger Ossmann was killed in action on 18.10.43. But who was Gruppen Komandeur I./ZG 26 before Jenne (when Gruppe was equipped with Bf110G-2) and after Jenne? Michael Holms webpage does not shoing it.

Also, does Me410 of I./ZG 26 used theyr old "Wespen" emblem instead of "Ringelpietz" as official unit emblem? Was it common, or only few aircrafts weared it? I know II./ZG 26 weared "old original Clog" emblem, not "Wespe" from III./ZG 1.

Last question: are StaKa's of "late I./ZG 26" known?

Best wishes!

Re: I./ZG 26, 1944 question.

Hptm. Jenne left I./ZG 26 on the first of June 1944. He was never StaKa of 1./JG 6. Jenne became Kdr of I./ZG 26 on ~23.02.1944 when he was still an Oblt. Hptm. August Bier was Kdr of I./ZG 26 from 10.43 till 2.1944.

Cheers,

John.
