NAG 102 was a Short Range Reconnaissance Wing
build 8.2.1943 off the Short Range Reconnaissance Flying School 2 (H) in the city of Brieg, 1st Group at Brieg, 2nd Group at Jüterborg-Damm.
December 12th 1944 together with Long Range Reconnaissance Wing 101 united to Reconnaissance Group 103 - no combat missions - only schools !!

NAG 102 was an operational training unit, the last school where pilots went before joining an operational recon unit. In such units they will learn to fly frontline aircraft, while at former schools they will have used trainers or outdated aircraft.

It's equivalent of the OTU in RAF.

That is interesting

But he seems to be wearing some kind of flying clasp and is an oberleutnant. Could he have history as a pilot in another unit?

Rick (or anyone else)...

Can someone re-post the original image of Oberleutnant Fuller? There was one in the original thread, but it seems to have been deleted.

Also, any further info?

Thanks Matti,

Anyone have the image that was listed by the OP? Appears it was a photograph of Willi Fuller.
