Are these He 111Es?
Hi all
With apologies for my ignorance, I am trying to work out if these aircraft from 8./KG 355 around October 1938 are indeed E types, as I had assumed. Having checked my references I am still struggling to tell my early mark He 111s apart! Thanks for any help.

Re: Are these He 111Es?
The engines look like Jumo 211 A1 engines, so it is likely that these were He 111 E, possibly E-1.

Re: Are these He 111Es?
I'm pretty sure they're Jumo 211A-3 engines, making it a He-111F.
See the small flap at the rear of the radiator, and the bump on top of the cowling immediately behind the spinner. See attached from Squadron-Signal He-111 reference. Cheers Peter Last edited by PMoz99; 1st April 2018 at 17:22. |
