Re: Wellington-loss

Not sure if this will help, but R1530-39 were MkIc's.

Page 92 shows some of the R153x series converted to other Mk's.

I can't get this site to open at work, but may have some info.?

You may need to work backwards by finding what happened to each aircraft.

Re: Wellington-loss

Hi Christian,

I believe this is probably 218 Squadron Wellington R1536 coded HA-G, I have the following info:

15-16 July 1941

Hptm. Werner Streib: 17 Stab I./NJG1 Wellington Roggel, 8 km. NE Weert 00.54 218 Sqn Wellington R1536

I'd be very interested in a high res. scan of the photo, for possible publication in my forthcoming book the Nachtjagd War Diaries 2nd edition, you can contact me on

Cheers, Theo
