Looking for a Luftwaffe crash in Mediterranean see

Hello
I am looking for information on the crash in the Mediterranean Sea of a German plane on October 10th, 1940. What I know: this plane was carrying three French members of an armistice commission. If I know the fate of the three French who perish in this accident, what about the names of the German crew and the type of plane.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Best regards
Franck

Hallo Matti
Vielen Dank für all diese Informationen. Es ist mehr als ich erwartet hatte. Haben Sie eine Vorstellung von der Abfahrtszeit in Montpellier?
Freundliche Grüße
Franck

Re: Looking for a Luftwaffe crash in Mediterranean see

Interesting story, thanks to all for pointing it and for providing details.

I try to identify the French casualties and found all of them:
Cdt Brothier: Cdt Louis Léopold Brothier, from an AA unit from Bourges (death date given as 7 October 1940 but in the fall of a German aircraft, so probably date is wrong) (https://www.memoiredeshommes.sga.def...682636&debut=0)
Cdt Servoz: Cdt Georges Leon Servoz, commanding officer of 1er RAD (http://www.memorialgenweb.org/memori...=bp&id=1169673 or https://www.memoiredeshommes.sga.def...829461&debut=0)
Kapitän Thilloy: Capt Marcel Gustave Thilloy, unidentified artillery unit (http://www.memorialgenweb.org/memori...=bp&id=8184055 or https://www.memoiredeshommes.sga.def...836736&debut=0)

Re: Looking for a Luftwaffe crash in Mediterranean see

Hello
I confirm that Cdt SERVOZ is belonging to French Air Force, not to an artillery regiment.
The two other French are well belonging to the army.
Best regards
Franck
