KG27 Flugbuch copies 1939-41

Hi, I'm working on a project at present researching KG27's men/ machines and operations covering 1939-41.
From research carried out so far it appears a good number of Flugbuch copies have survived from this unit, if anybody can help with these logbooks for this period I would be happy to hear from you.
Any help would be most appreciated in trying to place aircrew and aircraft in different theatres of operations.
Best rgs,
Steve.

S.S. -

The author noted below not only has written a comprehensive multi-volume history of KG 27, but he also has a private holding of some 6,000 Flugbücher, many, many of them from KG 27 aircrew:

- Waiss, Walter. Boelcke Archiv, Band 1: Die Briefe vom Stabsarzt der III./KG 27 Boelcke, Dr. Keller, 1939-1945. Neuss: privately published, 1997. Pb (oversize). 195p. Illus. with previously unpublished photos.

Re: KG27 Flugbuch copies 1939-41

Thanks Larry and Ed, I've got all the books up to 1942 which is within my area of interest.
I'm seeking flugbuch copies if anybody can help, and could trade like for like copies I have for ones I'm missing.
Particularly seeking the following:

Friedrich Dierkes 6/KG27,
Willi Mahnke 6/KG27,
Erich Zepter 6/KG27,
Erich Nohle 6/KG157, later 6/KG27,
Karl Riemschneider, ditto,
Bernard Rusche 4/KG27,
Willi Klause 3/KG27, Rudolf Hengst 3/KG27,
Ottmar Dold 7/KG27,
Georg Merl 8/KG27, Walter Kleinjohann 8/KG27, Heinz Kochy 8/KG27,
Bernard Kokott 8/KG27.
Any of the above would be of enormous help.
Best regs,
Steve.

They reside in the KG 27 Archive maintained by Walter Waiss the author of the Boelcke series mentioned above.

Norbert

Re: KG27 Flugbuch copies 1939-41

Thank you Norbert, I do know this but Herr Waiss to my knowledge doesn't
frequent any blogs or make himself available to answer any questions.
If anybody knows any different I would be willing to hear.

Kindest regs,
Steve.

Re: KG27 Flugbuch copies 1939-41

hi,

walter waiss will give you material if you have something for him to swap. for example 500 flights in a flugbuch, which he doesn't have, and you'll get 500 back.

all the best
jim

Re: KG27 Flugbuch copies 1939-41

Hi Jim thanks for responding.
Yes I'm aware of this with Walter, however the chances of me coming across
a flugbuch he doesn't have is about as rare as finding a hen with teeth!
Thank you for your tip though.
Best regs,
Steve.
