Correct day of death of Soviet ace

I'm trying to obtain which date of death is correct for Kapt Ivan Dmitrievich Sidorov (Hero of the Soviet Union) of the 92 IAP. I have in the Soviet Aces by Mikhail Bykov that he died on the 05July43 and V. Gorbach's book on the Kursk air battle that he was shot down on the 06Jul43. Which is correct?

Re: Correct day of death of Soviet ace

All five references that I checked indicate that he was killed on 5 July 1943.

According to OBD-Memorial (http://www.obd-memorial.ru/) Sidorov was shot down and killed on 6 July 1943.

Thanks Gunner1 and Maxim1, I've since also found confirmation on the 06 Jul 43 in Christer Bergstrom's book on Kursk besides V. Gorbach's books.

Michael,

Sure July, 6. Failed to return from combat in the area of Ponyri, that is how operational records say.
