Blenheim pilots Flt Lt D.R.M. Frostick/Flt Lt J.E.F. Jacklin

Hi guys

Flt Lts D.R.M. Frostick and J.E.F. Jacklin were Blenheim pilots in Malaya when the FE war erupted in December 1941. Frostick (62 Sqn) was wounded and Jacklin (34 Sqn) injured.

I believe both were repatriated to the UK. Did either return to ops?

Cheers
Brian

Brian,

While I don't know if they returned to ops, it's safe to say both stayed in RAF post-war.

40381 Douglas Reginald Montague Frostick is shown as a temp. S/Ldr in the Supplement to the London Gazette, 23 November 1943. He seems to have stayed in the RAF postwar as he is shown as a S/Ldr retaining the rank of Wing Commander 25 October 1958.

Same seems to go for 39284 John Eardley Francis Jacklin. Now a S/Ldr transferred to reserve (Class A) 16 May 1950.

Hi Brian,

Doug Frostick went on to fly operationally with 3 PRU (S.E. Asia), 681 Sqn and 140 Sqn.

Best Regards

As an aside, Frostick had been a Metropolitan Police Constable in 1936
