145 Squadron 8 August 1940

Hi guys

Can anyone enlighten me with regard to 145 Squadron's claims for 8 August 1940, please?

The ORB states three separate scrambles, as follows:

0930: six Ju87, three Bf109s claimed destroyed

1245: Blue Section claimed three Bf110s, one Bf109 destroyed

1610: six Ju87, two Bf110 destroyed.

Total for day: 21 destroyed. Congratulatory messages received confirm these figures.

However, one recent book shows only 9 claims (one Ju87 on first scramble, one Bf109 and one Bf110 on second scramble, and four Ju87 and two Bf109s on third scramble).

My own records suggest:

9 Hurricanes/145 Squadron, off St Catherine’s Point 08:31-09:55

P3521 Flt Lt R.G. Dutton 2 Ju87
P2918 Plt Off A.N.C. Weir Ju87, Bf109

P3167 Plt Off J.E. Storrar Ju87, Ju87 damaged
P3736 Plt Off P.W. Dunning-White Bf109 damaged

3/145 Squadron, St Catherine’s Point 11:44-13:12

P3221 Flt Lt A.H. Boyd 2 Bf110
P3736 Plt Off P.W. Dunning-White Bf110
P3521 Flt Lt R.G. Dutton Bf110 damaged

12 Hurricanes/145 Squadron, Channel 16:00-17:00

P3164 Sqn Ldr J.R.A. Peel Ju87, Bf109 probable, Ju87 damaged
P3521 Flt Lt R.G. Dutton Ju87, Bf109 damaged
P2720 Plt Off J.E. Storrar Ju87
P3736 Plt Off P.W. Dunning-White Ju87
P2918 Plt Off A.N.C. Weir Bf109
P 2496 Flg Off A. Ostowicz (Pol) Bf109 probable, Bf109 damaged
P3167 Flg Off D.N. Forde Ju87 damaged

Has anyone a breakdown of each pilot's claims, if different from above, including times etc?

Cheers
Brian
