"The Last Voices of the Checkertail Clan" - Free film just uploaded

In 2007 I started a project to meet and film veterans who served with the 325th Fighter Group "The Checkertail Clan".

Over the following years I did just that and released two online documentaries called Checkertails Part 1 and Part 2, they can be viewed here:

Part 1:

https://vimeo.com/38294301

Part 2:

https://vimeo.com/54052096

Since the last one I have met more veterans and attended the final reunion at Tyndall AFB in Florida.

Now a year and a half later I have completed the final film called ""The Last Voices of the Checkertail Clan", which is free (as both previous ones were) and details via video interviews, audio interviews and even unpublished material, the memories and stories of the men who served with them.

Here is the link and if you get a chance to view it, I hope you enjoy it and please share with anyone you know.

Cheers, MP

I looked through entire footage interesting material and well done. If I may remark various footage from Bari , Poltawa and numerous photos are not 325th FG related

For example Gen.Twining speaking to a gather of pilots from 82nd FG prior departure to Poltawa rather 325th FG, some POW footage depicting a blindfolded US airman is from PTO and not ETO , likewise footage depicting Libs and Forts are from 8th AF rather 15th AF, info on MacDonald Donald J as POW is not accurate,he managed to return to Allied control . Further 325th FG never straffed Bulgarian marsh, yards targets from Poltawa probably Barrie Davis meant Romania and some pilots photos are from 31st FG rather 325th .

In any case great job done

Hi researcher. I appreciate the feedback on that. I did identify during the film "Original 325th Fighter Group Footage". Other footage was added of-course to illustrate what they were talking about, but I understand where you are coming from.
The main focus was to listen to the guys anecdotes and memories of WW2 and I illustrated some with stock footage to break up the footage of a guy sitting in a chair.
Glad you enjoyed the film though, cheers, Neil

Hi researcher, can I ask a.quick question. Which part of the film mentions Donald being a Pow? If you could let me.know I will add a subtitle note to the video footage correcting it.

Thanks again, cheers, Neil
