Which squadrons took part in "Scharnhorst" attack 27/28-02-1942

Dear Members.

I hope someone can tell me which squadrons took part in the attack on the "Scharnhorst" on the 27/28-02-1942. I only know that 13 planes of 77SQ took part. I only know the number of plane types per Group:

6 Wellingtons van No.3 Group
2 Stirlings van No.3 Group
19 Whitleys van No.4 Group (including 13 Whitley's of 77SQ)
6 Hampdens van No.5 Group

I hope someone can help me out. This information will be used in a presentation about the crash and the crew of the 77SQ Whitley Z9280 that crashed on this mission at Driesum, The Netherlands.

Thank you all for your help

Kind greetings, Rene Bosma

Wilhelmshaven (20:25 to 20:49 hrs)

3 Group

Stirling 15Sqn 2 (2 bombed primary)
Wellington 214 Sqn 6 (1 bombed primary, 5 bombed other targets)

4 Group
Whitley 58 Sqn 6 (3 bombed primary, 3 early returns)
Whitley 77 Sqn 13 (8 bombed primary, 1 secondary, 1 early return, 3 lost)

5 Group
Hampden 106 Sqn 6 (4 primary, 2 early returns)

Night raid sheet - 2 definitely identified target, 19 others bombed on searchlights and flak in target area

Regards

Martin
