Ju 88 A - WNr. 8...

Hello

I'm searching production-location of Ju 88 A-1/5 of serial 8...
I have indications of manufacturer "Siebel - Halle" or "Junkers-Bernburg".
In my list the version A-1 reaches from WNr. 8001 - 8163 and version A-5 from WNr. 8164 - 8290.
Does anybody know, at what time and WNr the version was changed from A-1 to A-5 and how many planes are build ?

At WNr. 8501 the version A-4 starts, was this from the same manufacturer ? At what time this version started ?

Greetings
JoMe

Hi.

088 8001 range was Siebel, Halle. Assembled in single hangar at Leipzig-Mockau Airfield (made in co-op with ATG). One finds A-5´s from abaut 8096 but no firm break. A-1s and A-5 appear fabricated/delivered/made intermixed in period August September 1940!

cheers

ATG assembly hangars were at Leipzig-Mockau, but the Siebel assembly plant and „air traffic“ were at Schkeuditz.

8001-8096 = A-1
8097-8291 = A-5
In loss reports and other documents mentioned A-5 in the range 8001-8096 are later rebuilt A-1.

Re: Ju 88 A - WNr. 8...

hi Peter,

Good you corrected me re-Schkauditz. Topography in the Halle and Leipzig area is not my strong point. Regarding 8291 , why did SFW make one more A-1/A-5 than ATG? I have only 8290 as highest A-5.

cheers
