Photo Friedrichshafen G.III

Helllo,

Currently on ebay at:

https://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-Pilot-F...0AAOSwqn1eMAl7

is a nice photo of a Friedrichshafen G.III.

Given that information from the seller states that the photos come from an observer who flew with FFA 2b and subsequently FA 45b, I assume this must have been taken while visiting another unit.I assume this unit is Kasta V, given the V on the rudder.

The serial number is present, but difficult to make out due to the low contrast. Can anyone decipher it?

Regards,

Clint

Re: Photo Friedrichshafen G.III

Hello,

Currently on ebay a photo of the crashed Friedrichshafen G.III(Daim) G.251/17 at :

https://www.ebay.de/itm/groses-Foto-...YAAOSweIVehzCb

Given that the image at :

https://www.ebay.de/itm/Flieger-BG-2...kAAOSw5BNehzsy

by the same seller is captioned as belonging to Bosta 10, Perhaps the first image too is an aircraft of the same unit?

Regards,

Clint

Re: Photo Friedrichshafen G.III

The fuselage is quite "wrinkled" from the crash where part of the Bestellnummer is visible. I cannot determine if you or "Buddeke" are correct.

Why are you so certain it is 823 and not 820?

Cheers
Stig
