Eckart König underage?
Morning guys
I think I may have two or even three pilots here, it all looked like one pilot until a TOCH member gave me a year of birth as 1922! As he(I thought) served in Spain that would make him sixteen or seventeen, his first known claims aged eighteen, which though possible would have been unlikely so early in the war. his claims are:- 5th June 1940 4./JG 3 Uffz Curtiss Beauvais area u/c 29th September 1940 4./JG 3 Fw Hurricane South of London 1720 hrs 2700 metres a.s.m Nr.1 7th December 1943 Lt 1./Sg10 La-5 South of Ubliki 1358 hrs 500-300 metres Nr.2 Awarded the Spanienkreuz on 14th April 1939, the Deutsches Kreuz in gold postumously, around 1st October 1944? On 6th April 1944 he was shot down by Russian flak, he crash-landed his Fw190 at Leipzig, Rumania and was killed. alleged to have made a claim over Spain(though evidence is lacking). Grateful as ever for help with this Guy, things just do not add-up. Kind Regards Johannes |
