Breaking the sound barrier

Here are pics of an F-8, an F-18, a B-2, B-1 and the boys show they can do it in a B-52 as well.

To be truthful, these photos of interesting condensation clouds that form around jets as they fly at sonic speeds (often called "going through the sound barrier" or "accelerating past the speed of sound") are not actual proof of the breaking of the sound barrier.
Under the right conditions, they sometimes cause a vapor cone effect.
These Prandtl-Glauert condensation clouds can also occur at lower speeds also, and really arn't a visible manifestation of some kind of a sound barrier being broken.
