RAF night fighters on the 11/12.8.40 night

Hi,

perhaps someone could tell me, which squadrons of RAF night fighters were engaged during the 11/12.8.40 night?
Many thanks in advance.

Best regards

Robert

Re: RAF night fighters on the 11/12.8.40 night

On the 7th September 1940 the FIGHTER COMMAND:
ORDER OF BATTLE OF NIGHT FIGHTERS

No. 87 (B Flt) Filton/Bibury
No. 604 Middle Wallop
No. 141 (B Flt) Biggin Hill
No. 25 (A Flt) Debden/Martlesham
No. 25 (B Flt) North Weald
No. 600 Hornchurch
No. 23 Wittering
No. 29 Digby
No. 264 Kirton-in-Lindsay
No.219 Catterick
No. 141 (A Flt) Turnhouse Turnhouse

Note: One section of FIU (Blenheim) stationed at Tangmere available for operations.

Start looking at the ORBs for these
No-one was successful at night for quite some time

Two German bomber crews reported being attacked by 1-2 night fighters. Thanks for this OdB.

Hi,

I found out that there was a claim for destruction of Do 17 over Dorset that night. Any details?

Best regards

Robert

Nothing in any book Robert. This would have been 604's territory and although patrolling that night, no contacts and claims. I have a private 87 Sqn diary which I will have a look at later

@Stig Something like AIR22.

Many thanks in advance Chris, crew of KG55 that went down during this night claimed to have been attacked by a night fighter and some of them were wounded by machine-gunfire.

Best regards

Robert
