Horthy's son death on 20 August 1942

Hi all, I have details I wanted for the above crash on 20 August 1942 except one: the identity of the aircraft he actually crashed. I hope one of our Hungarian (or other) friend can provide it.*

Thanks in advance

Laurent

Hi Laurent,

Re.2000 (V.421)

I've got a note that István Horthy was KIFA on either 18Aug42 or 20Aug42

Best Regards

Andy Fletcher

Yes, it was an Italian manufactured (not Hungarian license built) Reggiane Re.2000, code V.421 (I have somewhere the Italian factory number of the plane as well).
The exact time of the crash was 5:07 a.m. (of course on 20 August, 1942, not two days earlier).

Now that you write this I found back in my notes that it was a Regianne 2000. But I had not the code.

Thanks to both of you.
