Do 18 crash poland 1939? (ebay photo)

Hello,

I've found this on ebay: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-Wehrmach...item4cfaf50933
Looks like a Do 18, stkz D(U?)+N(R?) crashed in poland in 1939 (text overleaf).
Is anything known about this "stranded" flying boat? Thanks for your help.

regards,
Bf 110

Re: Do 18 crash poland 1939? (ebay photo)

I do not think this photo was taken in 1939. The reason is that the gun tower in the B-Stand with the MG 151, was a conversion carried out by Weser Flugzeugbau in the late autumn and winter of 1940. This aircraft probably belonged to a training establishment on the Baltic coast, hence the Stammkennzeichen markings. Unfortunately, I do not have any information that could link this aircraft to any recorded accident.

Hello Seaplanes,

thank you for your reply and your help. I also was in doubt about the date. So you confirm my doubts with your technical analysis.

regards,
