He111 WNr.2235 Plate
Is any further history known for this airplane?
http://www.mediafire.com/i/?2nynzmjeoit The plate was found at a crash site near the town Svyatogorsk in the village Oleksandrivka, Ukraine, after the war. At least some of the crewmen reportedly died in the event. Thank you, Steve

Re: He111 WNr.2235 Plate
The W-Nr. is 2235 R. This is a plate of the Rumpf (fuselage). Good luck with the identification of the airplane.

Re: He111 WNr.2235 Plate
Peter,
Thank you for that information; I was not aware of the significance of the "R". Would you say that 2235 was the airplane's main WNr., also? What do you think that the significance of "L" with a WNr. means? http://www.mediafire.com/i/?4ynn22dxm50 Best regards, Steve

Re: He111 WNr.2235 Plate
I have been in touch with the individual who found the plate at the crash site, and a few bits of additional information have arisen.
He visited the site (some 10+ years ago, as a teen) based on recollections of elders who were alive during the war. The plane crashed in 1943. There were no survivors - some died in the crash, others were shot while trying to evade capture. Soviet military and locals removed the bulk of the surface/shallow remains at the time. This plate and some engine debris were found in-ground, during the later examination. Does this information, plus the location mentioned before, connect to any recorded losses?
